(O Prophet), did you see him who turned away (from the Path of Allah), 33 And gave a little and [then] refrained? 34 Does he have any knowledge of the world beyond the ken of sense-perception, and therefore, clearly sees (the Truth)? 35 Has he not been informed of what is in the Scrolls of Moses, 36 And of Ibrahim who faithfully fulfilled? 37 That no burdened soul bears another soul’s burden? 38 And that man can have nothing but what he does (good or bad). 39 and that his labouring shall surely be seen, 40 Then he will be recompensed for it with the fullest recompense 41 and that the final end is unto thy Lord, 42 and that it is He alone who causes [you] to laugh and to weep; 43 And that He it is Who causes death and gives life- 44 That He did create in pairs,- male and female, 45 From Nutfah (drops of semen male and female discharges) when it is emitted; 46 And that He hath ordained the second bringing forth; 47 That it is He Who giveth wealth and satisfaction; 48 And that He (Allah) is the Lord of Sirius (the star which the pagan Arabs used to worship); 49 that He it is Who destroyed the ancient 'Ad, 50 And Thamud, and did not leave them, 51 and that He it is Who destroyed the people of Noah before for they were much given to iniquity and transgression. 52 And the overthrown cities did He overthrow, 53 So that (ruins unknown) have covered them up. 54 Concerning which then, of the bounties of thy Lord, canst thou dispute? 55 This is a Warner, of the (series of) Warners of old! 56 The Imminent is imminent; 57 apart from God none can disclose it. 58 Does this statement seem strange to them 59 And do you laugh instead of weeping, 60 While ye amuse yourselves? 61 Rather, prostrate to Allah and worship Him. ۩ 62
