The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
O thou wrapped up (in the mantle)! 1 arise and warn, 2 And proclaim the Purity of your Lord. 3 And your garments purify! 4 shun uncleanness; 5 And bestow not favors that you may receive again with increase, 6 And for the sake of your Lord, be patient. 7 For when the Trump is sounded 8 it will be a hard day 9 and it will not be easy for the unbelievers. 10 LEAVE Me alone [to deal] with him whom I have created alone, 11 whom I have endowed with abundant riches, 12 And children present [with him] 13 And made several preparations for him. 14 then he is eager that I should do more. 15 Nay! For lo! he hath been stubborn to Our revelations. 16 I shall soon constrain him to a hard ascent. 17 For he thought and he plotted -- 18 death seized him, how was his determining! 19 Again (self-)destroyed is he, how he planned! - 20 Then he thought; 21 Then frowned and grimaced. 22 Then turned he away in pride 23 and said: 'This is no more than traced sorcery; 24 "This is nothing but the word of a human being!" 25 I will cast him into the fire of Hell. 26 and what will teach thee what is Sakar? 27 It lets nothing remain and leaves nothing [unburned], 28 making [all truth] visible to mortal man. 29 Over it are nineteen. 30 And We have not made the keepers of the Fire except angels. And We have not made their number except as a trial for those who disbelieve - that those who were given the Scripture will be convinced and those who have believed will increase in faith and those who were given the Scripture and the believers will not doubt and that those in whose hearts is hypocrisy and the disbelievers will say, "What does Allah intend by this as an example?" Thus does Allah leave astray whom He wills and guides whom He wills. And none knows the soldiers of your Lord except Him. And mention of the Fire is not but a reminder to humanity. 31
