۞ [The angels will be ordered], "Gather those who committed wrong, their kinds, and what they used to worship 22 "Besides Allah, and lead them to the Way to the (Fierce) Fire! 23 "But stop them, verily they are to be questioned. 24 “What is the matter with you, that you do not help one another?” 25 No, today they will resign themselves in submission, 26 And they will approach one another blaming each other. 27 "It was you who tried to mislead us from righteousness". 28 Others will respond, "It was you who did not want to have any faith. 29 "And we had no authority over you. Nay! But you were transgressing people (disobedient, polytheists, and disbelievers). 30 and so we became deserving of the Word of our Lord that we shall be made to suffer chastisement. 31 Therefore we perverted you, and we ourselves were perverts.' 32 On that Day they will all share the punishment: 33 As such We shall deal with the evildoers. 34 They were those who, when it was said to them, "There is no god but God," behaved with insolence, 35 And they used to say, “Shall we forsake our Gods upon the sayings of a mad poet?” 36 'No indeed; but he brought the truth, and confirmed the Envoys. 37 Now certainly you shall be tasting the painful chastisement, 38 And you shall not be rewarded except (for) what you did. 39 Except the chosen creatures of God, 40 For them there will be a known provision (in Paradise). 41 fruits -- and they high-honoured 42 In Gardens of Felicity, 43 facing one another [in love] upon thrones of happiness. 44 A drink will be passed round among them from a flowing spring: 45 White, delicious to those who drink. 46 Neither they will have Ghoul (any kind of hurt, abdominal pain, headache, a sin, etc.) from that, nor will they suffer intoxication therefrom. 47 And with them shall be those who restrain the eyes, having beautiful eyes; 48 As though they were eggs hidden. 49 They advance one upon another, asking each other questions. 50 And a speaker from among them will say: verily there was unto me a mate. 51 "Who used to say, 'what! art thou amongst those who bear witness to the Truth (of the Message)? 52 after we die and become dust and bones, we shall be brought to judgement?'" 53 He will say, "Would you [care to] look?" 54 and then he looks and sees that [companion of his] in the midst of the blazing fire, 55 He will say to his friend in hell, "By God, you almost destroyed me. 56 Had it not been for the grace of my Lord I too would have been there (in Hell). 57 But then, [O my friends in paradise,] is it [really] so that we are not to die 58 Saving our former death, and are we not to be punished? 59 Verily, this - this indeed - is the triumph supreme!" 60 For this the toilers should strive." 61 Is that the better entertainment or the Tree of Zaqqum? 62 Verily We! We have made it a temptation for the wrong-doers. 63 It is a tree that grows from the bottom of Hell; 64 Its emerging fruit as if it was heads of the devils. 65 And lo! they verily must eat thereof, and fill (their) bellies therewith. 66 Then on top of that they will be given a mixture made of boiling water. 67 And thereafter verily their return is unto the Flaming Fire. 68 These are the ones who found their fathers steeped in error, 69 and [now] they make haste to follow in their footsteps! 70 Before them a multitude of people of olden times had erred, 71 and We sent among them warners; 72 and behold what happened in the end to those that had been warned [to no avail]! 73 except for God's sincere servants. 74
