We certainly bestowed Our favor upon Moses and Aaron 114 And rescued them and their people from the great calamity. 115 And helped them so that they became the victors. 116 We granted them a Clear Book, 117 guided them to the right path, 118 and We left them thus to be succeeded by a group [of followers] among later generations: 119 "Peace be upon Moses and Aaron!" 120 Verily, thus do We reward the Muhsinun (good-doers - see V. 2:112). 121 they were among Our believing servants. 122 And indeed Ilyas is one of the Noble Messengers. 123 Recall what time he said unto his people: fear ye not? 124 Do you call on Baal and abandon the Best of Creators, 125 God, your Sustainer and the Sustainer of your forebears of old?" 126 And they denied him, so indeed, they will be brought [for punishment], 127 But not the servants of Allah, the purified ones. 128 We preserved a good name for him among posterity. 129 "Peace and salutation to such as Elias!" 130 Verily, thus do We reward the Muhsinun (good-doers, who perform good deeds totally for Allah's sake only - see V. 2:112). 131 He is indeed one of Our high ranking, firmly believing bondmen. 132 Lot was certainly a Messenger. 133 We saved him and all his people, 134 except an old woman who was among those that stayed behind; 135 then We destroyed the others, 136 You pass by their ruins morning 137 And at night; do you not then understand? 138
