In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
CONSIDER Mount Sinai! 1 and by the Book in lines 2 On fine parchment unrolled, 3 And the House frequented, 4 and the roof uplifted 5 and the sea that is full 6 Most surely the punishment of your Lord will come to pass; 7 There is none who could avert it. 8 on the Day when the skies are convulsed, 9 And the mountains will move away with a (horrible) movement. 10 Will be the day of woe for those 11 and amuse themselves with vain argumentation. 12 On that day they will be violently pushed into the fire 13 and they will be told, "This is the fire which you called a lie. 14 “So is this magic, or are you unable to see?” 15 “Enter it – now whether you patiently bear it or are impatient – it is the same for you; for you is a recompense only for what you used to do.” 16 As to the Righteous, they will be in Gardens, and in Happiness,- 17 talking of what they have received from their Lord and of how their Lord has saved them from the torment of hell. 18 (And it is said unto them): Eat and drink in health (as a reward) for what ye used to do, 19 They will be reclining on thrones lined up, and We will marry them to fair women with large, [beautiful] eyes. 20 The offspring of the believers will also follow them to Paradise. So shall We join their offspring to them because of their faith. We shall reduce nothing from their deeds. Everyone will be responsible for his own actions. 21 And We shall succour them with fruits and flesh such as they desire 22 There they shall pass from hand to hand a (wine) cup, free from any Laghw (dirty, false, evil vague talk between them), and free from sin (because it will be legal for them to drink). 23 ۞ There will circulate among them [servant] boys [especially] for them, as if they were pearls well-protected. 24 They will ask each other questions, 25 Saying: Lo! of old, when we were with our families, we were ever anxious; 26 "But Allah has been good to us, and has delivered us from the Penalty of the Scorching Wind. 27 Verily, we did invoke Him [alone] ere this: [and now He has shown us] that He alone is truly benign, a true dispenser of grace!" 28
