Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By (the wind) those sent (as horses') mane (in succession), 1 storming tempestuously 2 And those that revive by quickening, 3 separating one from another, 4 and those (angels) dropping, reminding 5 to serve as an excuse or a warning. 6 Most surely what you are threatened with must come to pass. 7 So when the stars are made to lose their light, 8 And when the heaven is opened 9 And when the mountains are blown away; 10 and the appointed time to bring the Messengers together arrives, (then shall the promised event come to pass). 11 For what Day was it postponed? 12 The Day of Judgement. 13 And what shall teach thee what is the Day of Decision? 14 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 15 Destroyed We not the former folk, 16 We shall then send the latter after them. 17 [for] thus do We deal with such as are lost in sin. 18 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 19 Did We not create you from a weak water, 20 Which We laid up in a safe abode 21 until an appointed time? 22 See that We had the power to do so. Great indeed is Our power to do what We will. 23 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle, 25 For the living and the dead. 26 And have placed therein firm, and tall mountains; and have given you to drink sweet water? 27 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 28 Proceed to that which you denied. 29 Go on towards the threefold shadow 30 affording neither shade, nor protection from the flames, 31 Indeed hell throws up sparks like huge castles. 32 (Or) as it might be camels of bright yellow hue. 33 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 34 This is a Day whereon they shall not be able to speak. 35 Nor will it be permitted for them to make an excuse. 36 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 37 'This is the Day of Decision; We have joined you with the ancients; 38 and if you [think that you] have a subterfuge left, try to outwit Me!" 39 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 40
