The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Woe unto the scrimpers: 1 those who demand a full measure from others 2 but when they measure or weigh, give less. 3 Do they not think that they will be resurrected 4 unto a mighty day 5 the Day when people will stand before the Lord of the Worlds? 6 Indeed, the record of the disbelievers is in the lowest place, the Sijjeen. 7 And how would you know what the Record of the prison-house is? 8 A record of misdeeds written. 9 Woe, then, to those that give the lie, 10 those that give the lie to the Day of Recompense. 11 And none gives the lie to it but every exceeder of limits, sinful one 12 And when Our revelations are rehearsed unto him, he saith: fables of the ancients! 13 No! Their own deeds have cast a veil over their hearts. 14 Yes indeed – they will be deprived of seeing their Lord on that day. 15 They will suffer the heat of fire 16 Then it shall be said to them, 'This is that you cried lies to.' 17 Nay, but the record of the righteous is in 'Illiyin - 18 What could let you know what the 'Illiyoon is! 19 (There is) a Register (fully) inscribed, 20 which the angels placed near Allah to safeguard. 21 The virtuous will surely be in bliss, 22 On Thrones (of Dignity) will they command a sight (of all things): 23 thou knowest in their faces the radiancy of bliss 24 They will be served a drink of the finest sealed wine, 25 The sealing of it is (with) musk; and for that let the aspirers aspire. 26 and whose mixture is Tasnim, 27 a spring, the nearest ones to God will drink from it. 28 The wicked used to laugh at the believers -- 29 And whenever they passed by them, used to wink at each other (in mockery); 30 And when they went back to their people turned to make fun of them; 31 And when they saw them, they said: "Verily! These have indeed gone astray!" 32 Yet they were not sent as guardians over them. 33 so today those who believe shall [be able to] laugh at those who denied the truth 34 On high thrones, watching. 35 Have the unbelievers been duly rewarded for their deeds? 36
