And rehearse to them (something of) Abraham's story. 69 He said to his father and to his nation: 'What do you worship' 70 They said, “We worship idols, and we keep squatting in seclusion before them.” 71 He said: "Do they hear you, when you call (on them)? 72 or do they profit you, or harm?' 73 They said: "Nay, but we found our fathers doing so." 74 He said: See now that which ye worship, 75 you and your fathers, the elders? 76 "Verily! They are enemies to me, save the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists); 77 "Who has created me, and it is He Who guides me; 78 And it is He who feeds me and gives me drink. 79 And when I am ill, it is He who cures me 80 who makes me to die and then revives me, 81 and who, [hope, will forgive me my faults on Judgment Day! 82 “My Lord, bestow me the command and join me with those who deserve your proximity.” 83 And appoint me a tongue of truthfulness among the latter. 84 and make me one of the inheritors of the Garden of Bliss; 85 And forgive my father. Lo! he is of those who err. 86 And abase me not on the day when they are raised, 87 "The Day whereon neither wealth nor sons will avail, 88 Save him who bringeth unto Allah a whole heart. 89 Paradise will be brought near those who take heed for themselves and follow the straight path; 90 And Hellfire will be brought forth for the deviators, 91 they will be asked, "Where are those whom you worshipped 92 "'Besides Allah? Can they help you or help themselves?' 93 Thereupon they will be hurled into hell - they, as well as all [others] who had been lost in grievous error, 94 and Satan's legions, all together. 95 And they, while contending therein, shall say: 96 “By oath of Allah, we were indeed in open error.” 97 “When we considered you equal to the Lord Of The Creation.” 98 It was but the guilty who misled us. 99 Now we have no intercessors 100 "'Nor a single friend to feel (for us). 101 (Alas!) If we only had a chance to return (to the world), we shall truly be among the believers! 102 Most surely there is a sign in this, but most of them do not believe. 103 Verily Your Lord is Immensely Mighty, Ever Compassionate. 104
