۞ Gather together those who did wrong and their comrades and that which they were wont to worship 22 instead of God, and lead them all onto the way to the blazing fire, 23 "But stop them, for they must be asked: 24 'But what is the matter with you that you cannot help one another?,'" 25 They will submit to questioning then, 26 They will turn upon one another, and question one another. 27 They will say: verily ye! ye were wont to come unto us Imposing. 28 They will answer, “You yourselves did not have faith!” 29 We had no authority over you, but you were an insolent nation. 30 So the sentence of our Lord has come to pass against us: (now) we shall surely taste; 31 And we led you to deviation; indeed, we were deviators." 32 So, they will become partners in punishment. 33 Thus do We treat the culprits. 34 for when it was said to them, 'There is no god but God,' they were ever waxing proud, 35 And they said: are we going to abandon our gods on account of a poet distracted? 36 Aye! he hath come with the truth, and he confesseth to the sent ones. 37 You shall certainly taste the painful punishment: 38 Ye are requited naught save what ye did - 39 But the chosen servants of God; 40 shall have a known provision -- 41 Fruits! And they shall be honoured. 42 in the Gardens of Bliss, 43 upon couches, set face to face, 44 a cup filled with wine from its springs, will be passed around to them; 45 White, delicious to those who drink. 46 Neither does it intoxicate, nor give a headache. 47 And with them shall be those who restrain the eyes, having beautiful eyes; 48 as if they were hidden pearls. 49 And they will approach one another, inquiring of each other. 50 One of them will say: 'I had a companion 51 who used to ask, 'Do you really believe that 52 Shall we be recompensed for our deeds after we die and become bones and dust? 53 (A voice) said: "Would ye like to look down?" 54 And he will look and see him in the midst of the Hellfire. 55 He says, 'By God, wellnigh thou didst destroy me; 56 And but for the favour of my lord, I should have been of those brought forward. 57 Are we then not to die 58 except for our first death? And shall we suffer no chastisement?'” 59 This is certainly the greatest triumph 60 For this the toilers should strive." 61 Is that better as a hospitality, or the Tree of Ez-Zakkoum? 62 Lo! We have appointed it a torment for wrong-doers. 63 Verily it is a tree that springeth forth in the bottom of Flaming Fire. 64 Its spathes are like the heads of satans. 65 and they [who are lost in evil] are indeed bound to eat thereof, and to fill their bellies therewith. 66 Then on top of it they will have a brew of boiling water. 67 then their return is to Hell. 68 They had indeed found their forefathers astray. 69 So they in their footsteps are rushing. 70 Thus, indeed, most of the people of old went astray before them, 71 We had certainly sent warners to them. 72 So behold what wise hath been the end of those who were warned. 73 Save the bondmen of Allah sincere. 74
