The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ When the inevitable event takes place, 1 There is, at its occurrence, no denial. 2 abasing [some,] exalting [others]! 3 when the earth shall be rocked 4 and the mountains will crumble 5 becoming scattered dust, 6 [on that Day] you shall be divided into three groups. 7 Companions of the Right (O Companions of the Right!) 8 And the companions of the left - what are the companions of the left? 9 And the foremost in the race, the foremost in the race: 10 Those are they who will be brought nigh 11 In gardens of delight; 12 A multitude from the ancients. 13 And a few from among the latter. 14 On studded thrones. 15 Reclining thereon, face to face. 16 Youths of never-ending bloom will pass round to them 17 Cups and decanters, beakers full of sparkling wine, 18 No headache will they have therefrom, nor will they be intoxicated - 19 Also, they will be served with the fruits of their choice 20 and the flesh of birds, as they desire. 21 And (there will be) Houris (fair females) with wide, lovely eyes (as wives for the pious), 22 like the pearls in their shells: 23 shall be their recompense for their deeds. 24 Therein they shall hear no idle talk, no cause of sin, 25 Only a saying: "Peace, peace." 26 The companions of the right - what are the companions of the right? 27 (They will be) among Lote-trees without thorns, 28 and flower-clad acacias, 29 In shade long-extended, 30 And water everflowing. 31 And fruit abundant. 32 unfailing and not forbidden. 33 They shall be on upraised couches, 34 Verily We! We have created those maidens by a creation. 35 And have made them virgins. 36 Loving companions matched in age, 37 All this will be for the People on the Right; 38
