The News (Al-Naba')
40 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej) before The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ Of what do they question one another? 1 About the great news, (i.e. Islamic Monotheism, the Quran, which Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) brought and the Day of Resurrection, etc.), 2 About which they have been differing? 3 Indeed they will come to know soon; 4 Nay! Nay! they shall soon know. 5 Have We not spread the earth like a bed, 6 And the mountains as pegs? 7 Have We not created you in pairs, 8 And made your sleep a rest. 9 And have made the night as a covering (through its darkness), 10 and made the day for earning a livelihood. 11 And We have built above you seven strong ones, 12 and placed in them a blazing lamp 13 And have sent down from the rainy clouds abundant water. 14 That We may produce from it grain and vegetation, 15 and gardens dense with foliage. 16 Indeed, the Day of Decision is an appointed time, 17 On that day the trumpet will be sounded and you will come (to Us) in huge groups. 18 And the heaven is opened and becometh as gates, 19 The mountains put in motion turning into a mirage. 20 Truly, Hell is a place of ambush, 21 For the transgressors a place of destination: 22 where they shall remain for ages, 23 Neither coolness shall they taste therein nor any [thirst-quenching] drink 24 Save boiling water and a paralysing cold: 25 Requital corresponding. 26 For that they used not to fear any account (for their deeds), 27 and roundly denied Our Signs as false. 28 and everything We have numbered in a Book. 29 Therefore taste it now We shall not increase anything for you except the punishment. 30

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
