Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
I swear by the wind that scatters far and wide, 1 And those [clouds] carrying a load [of water] 2 and those that speed along with gentle ease, 3 and distributing the command of God at His behest! 4 Undoubtedly, the promise you are given is surely true. 5 and the Day of Judgment will inevitably take place. 6 By the heaven full of paths. 7 Indeed, you are in differing speech. 8 He is turned away from it who would be turned away. 9 Death to those whose opinions are merely baseless conjectures. 10 who are heedless in the immersion. 11 They ask, "When is the Day of Recompense?" 12 [It will be] a Day when they will be sorely tried by the fire, 13 'Taste your trial. This is what you have sought to hasten' 14 Surely the godfearing shall be among gardens and fountains 15 receiving what their Lord will give them because before this they were gooddoers. 16 They were in the habit of sleeping but little by night, 17 And in the hour of early dawn, they (were found) praying for Forgiveness; 18 And in their property was a portion due to him who begs and to him who is denied (good). 19 And on the earth are signs for those who have Faith with certainty, 20 And within yourselves. Can you not perceive? 21 In heaven is your sustenance, and also that which you are promised. 22 By the Lord of the heaven and the earth it is sure, even as it is a fact that ye are speaking. 23
