Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
52 verses, revealed in Mecca after Kingship (Al-Mulk) before The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ The Inevitable Reality - 1 What is the Sure Reality? 2 And what could make thee conceive what that laying-bare of the truth will be? 3 Thamood and Ad cried lies to the Clatterer. 4 So as for Thamud, they were destroyed by the overpowering [blast]. 5 And as for 'Ad, they were destroyed by a furious violent wind; 6 which continued to strike them for seven nights and eight days so that eventually you could see the people lying dead like the hollow trunks of uprooted palm-trees. 7 Do you now see any trace of them? 8 And Firon and those before him and the overthrown cities continuously committed sins. 9 They defied their Lord's messenger, so He seized them with an ever-tightening grip. 10 Verily when the water rose to great heights, We bore you upon a floating vessel (i.e. the Ark) 11 So that We may make it a reminder to you, and that the retaining ear might retain it. 12 Then when the Horn is blown with one blast 13 and the earth and the mountains are carried aloft and are crushed to bits at one stroke, 14 Then on that Day shall happen the Event. 15 And the sky will be rent asunder, for it will that Day be flimsy, 16 And the angels shall be on the sides thereof; and above them eight shall bear on that day your Lord's power. 17 That Day shall ye be brought to Judgment: not an act of yours that ye hide will be hidden. 18 Then as for him who is given his book in his right hand, he shall say, 'Here, take and read my book! 19 Behold, I did know that [one day] I would have to face my account! 20 So he will be in a pleasant life - 21 In a lofty Garden 22 with its fruits within easy reach. 23 [They will be told], "Eat and drink in satisfaction for what you put forth in the days past." 24 However, those who will receive the books of the records of their deeds in their left hands will say, "We wish that this record had never been given to us 25 "And that I had never realised how my account (stood)! 26 Oh, would that it had been death! 27 My riches have availed me not; 28 There hath perished from me my authority. 29 Seize him and fetter him, 30 Roast him in Hell, 31 “Then bind him inside a chain which is seventy arm-lengths.” 32 He did not believe in Allah, the Great, 33 Nor he urged on others the feeding of the poor. 34 "So no friend hath he here this Day. 35 nor any food except foul pus 36 which only the sinners will eat.” 37
