He Frowned ('Abasa)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ HE FROWNED and turned away 1 when the blind man approached him, 2 And what do you know, he may be of the pure! 3 Or be admonished, so that the admonition might have profited him? 4 As for he who is sufficed 5 So you are after him! 6 Yet it is not thy concern if he grow not (in grace). 7 As for him who comes to you striving (after goodness), 8 And hath fear, 9 So you leave him, and are engrossed elsewhere! 10 Nay, (do not do like this), indeed it (these Verses of this Quran) are an admonition, 11 and so, whoever is willing may remember Him 12 On honoured leaves 13 exalted, purified, 14 [Carried] by the hands of messenger-angels, 15 Honourable and obedient. 16 Accursed be man! How stubbornly he denies the Truth. 17 Of what did He create him? 18 Of a sperm-drop He created him, and determined him, 19 Then maketh the way easy for him, 20 Then He caused him to die and made him to be buried. 21 Then, when it is His Will, He will resurrect him (again). 22 No! Man has not yet accomplished what He commanded him. 23 Let man therefore consider (the sources of) his food. 24 That We watered it in abundance. 25 Then We split the earth properly. 26 We make the grain grow out of it, 27 And grapes and herbage, 28 and olives, and palms, 29 And thick gardens, 30 fruits, and grass. 31 [As] enjoyment for you and your grazing livestock. 32 And when the Blast shall sound, 33 On that day man will run away from his brother. 34 And from his mother and father, 35 As well as his wife and children. 36 Each one of them, that Day, will have enough concern (of his own) to make him indifferent to the others. 37 Many faces will that day be bright, 38 Laughing, rejoicing at good news. 39 And many a face will be covered with dust on that day. 40 Covered with the blackness (of shame): 41 It is they, the disbelievers, the sinners. 42
