The Prophets (Al-Anbyaa')
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ The people’s reckoning is near, whereas they are in neglect, turned away! 1 Never cometh there unto them a new reminder from their Lord but they listen to it while they play, 2 Their hearts are involved in play; and the unjust secretly conferred, “What is he, except another a human like you?! So do you follow magic although you have perceived?” 3 The Prophet said, "My Lord knows whatever is said throughout the heaven and earth, and He is the Hearing, the Knowing." 4 Nay! say they: Medleys of dreams; nay! he has forged it; nay! he is a poet; so let him bring to us a sign as the former (prophets) were sent (with). 5 Not a [single] city which We destroyed believed before them, so will they believe? 6 We never sent (anyone) before you except men to whom We revealed to them. 'Ask the people of the Remembrance if you do not know' 7 nor did We fashion them as bodies that ate not food, neither were they immortal; 8 Then We fulfilled Our promise to them and We saved them and those with them whom We pleased, and We destroyed those who exceeded all bounds. 9 We have bestowed upon you a Book that mentions you. Do you not understand? 10
