۞ Those people, who have no fear of coming before Us, say, "Why should not the angels be sent down to us? Or else we should see our Lord. " Great arrogance have they assumed in regard to themselves, and have transgressed all limits in their rebellion. 21 The Day whereon they shall behold the angels on that day there will be no joy for the culprits, and they will say: away! away! 22 Then We shall turn to what they had done and render it vain like scattered dust. 23 The dwellers of Paradise on that day will have the best residence and resting place. 24 A day when the heaven with the clouds will be rent asunder and the angels will be sent down, a grand descent. 25 The dominion on that Day shall be the true dominion of the Compassionate, and it shall be a day upon the infidels hard. 26 On the day when the wrong-doer gnaweth his hands, he will say: Ah, would that I had chosen a way together with the messenger (of Allah)! 27 "Ah! woe is me! Would that I had never taken such a one for a friend! 28 He led me away from the true guidance after it had come to us. Satan is a traitor to people." 29 The prophet will say: "O my Lord, my people had fettered the Qur'an." 30 For so it is that against every prophet We have set up enemies from among those who are lost in sin: yet none can guide and give succour as thy Sustainer does! 31 The unbelievers have said, "Why was the whole Quran not revealed to him at once?" We have revealed it to you in gradual steps to strengthen your hearts and give you explanations. 32 And they will never bring you an example, but We shall bring you a true narration and better than it. 33 (As for) those who shall be gathered upon their faces to hell, they are in a worse plight and straying farther away from the path. 34
