The people of Lot denied the messengers 160 When their brother Lot said to them: "Will you not take heed? 161 Surely I am a faithful apostle to you; 162 "So fear Allah, keep your duty to Him, and obey me. 163 I ask of you no wage for this; my wage falls only upon the Lord of all Being. 164 Do you, of all people, approach males, 165 leaving your wives that your Lord created for you? Nay, but you are a people of transgressors. 166 They said, "Lot, if you do not give up preaching, you will certainly be expelled (from this town)". 167 [Lot] exclaimed: "Behold, I am one of those who utterly abhor your doings!" 168 "O my Lord! deliver me and my family from such things as they do!" 169 So We delivered him and his family,- all 170 all but an old woman, who was among those that stayed behind; 171 Then We utterly destroyed the others. 172 And We rained on them a rain. And dreadful is the rain of those who have been warned. 173 Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers. 174 And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful. 175
