(Muhammad), recall Our servant Job. When he prayed to his Lord saying, "Satan has afflicted me with hardship and torment," 41 We said, "Stamp your foot! Here is cool water for you to wash in and drink," 42 And We gave him (back) his people, and doubled their number,- as a Grace from Ourselves, and a thing for commemoration, for all who have Understanding. 43 [We said], "And take in your hand a bunch [of grass] and strike with it and do not break your oath." Indeed, We found him patient, an excellent servant. Indeed, he was one repeatedly turning back [to Allah]. 44 Also, remember Our worshipers Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, those of might and vision. 45 Lo! We purified them with a pure thought, remembrance of the Home (of the Hereafter). 46 And in Our sight, they are indeed the chosen ones, the beloved. 47 Also, remember our worshipers Ishmael, Elisha, and ThulKifl, they are among the good. 48 This is a Reminder, and verily, for the Muttaqun (pious and righteous persons - see V. 2:2) is a good final return (Paradise), 49 gardens of perpetual bliss, with gates wide-open to them, 50 They will be resting therein and will be able to ask for many kinds of fruit and drink. 51 ۞ and wherein there shall be with them well-matched, bashful mates. 52 All this is what you are promised for the Day of Judgement. 53 this is Our provision, unto which there is no end.' 54 All this; but for the insolent awaits an ill resort, 55 Hell; they shall enter it, so evil is the resting-place. 56 This is for the criminals – so that they may taste it – boiling hot water and pus. 57 And similar other punishments in pairs. 58 Here is an army rushing blindly with you. (Those who are already in the Fire say): No word of welcome for them. Lo! they will roast at the Fire. 59 The followers will say, “In fact, for you! May you not get open space! It is you who brought this calamity upon us!” So what a wretched destination. 60 They will say: our Lord! whosever hath brought this upon us, unto him increase doubly the torment of the Fire. 61 And they say, “What is the matter with us that we do not see the men whom we thought were evil?” 62 Did we take them as an object of mockery, or have (our) eyes failed to perceive them?" 63 Verily this is the very truth: the wrangling of the fellows of the Fire! 64
