The Stars (Al-Najm)
62 verses, revealed in Mecca after Absoluteness (Al-Ikhlaas) before He Frowned ('Abasa)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the Star when it goes down,- 1 your companion has neither strayed nor is he deluded; 2 And he speaketh not of his own desire. 3 This is naught but a revelation revealed, 4 taught by One who is Stern in power. 5 One vigorous; and he grew clear to view 6 And reached the highest pinnacle. 7 He (Gabriel) then came nearer and nearer. 8 And was at a distance of but two bow-lengths or (even) nearer; 9 then revealed to his servant that he revealed. 10 The heart lied not (in seeing) what it saw. 11 What! So do you dispute with him regarding what he saw? 12 And indeed he (Muhammad SAW) saw him [Jibrael (Gabriel)] at a second descent (i.e. another time). 13 Near the Lote-tree beyond which none may pass: 14 nigh which is the Garden of the Refuge, 15 When the Lote-tree was covered over with what it was covered over; 16 (His) sight never swerved, nor did it go wrong! 17 Certainly he saw of the greatest signs of his Lord. 18 Have ye seen Lat. and 'Uzza, 19 And subsequently the third, the Manat? 20 What, have you males, and He females! 21 That indeed is a division most unfair! 22 They are naught but names which you have named, you and your fathers; Allah has not sent for them any authority. They follow naught but conjecture and the low desires which (their) souls incline to; and certainly the guidance has come to them from their Lord. 23 Nay, shall man have (just) anything he hankers after? 24 And to God belongs the First and the Last. 25

عند قراءة القرآن الملون في وضعية اللغة العربية المرسومة بالأحرف الإنجليزية، قد لا تلاحظ وجود منظومة برمجية مصممة لمطابقة متطلبات علامات الوقف في النص العربي الأصلي. فكما تعلم، يحتوي القرآن على خمسة أنواع رئيسية من علامات الوقف. When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
