Unknown Person (Al-Muzzammil)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
O you (Prophet Muhammad) wrapped, 1 rise (to pray) the night except a little; 2 A half thereof, or abate a little thereof 3 Or add to it, and recite the Qur'an with measured recitation. 4 We shall soon entrust to you a message heavy (with solemnity). 5 Surely getting up at night is the best means of subduing the self and is more suitable for uprightness in speech. 6 Indeed you have a lot of matters during the day. 7 So remember the name of your Lord and devote yourself to Him with exclusive devotion. 8 He is the only Lord, so choose Him as your guardian. 9 And be patient (O Muhammad SAW) with what they say, and keep away from them in a good way. 10 Leave to Me those who belie, those who lead a life of pleasure, and bear with them yet a little while. 11 for with Us there are fetters, and a furnace, 12 food which chokes (them), and a painful torment. 13 On the Day when the earth and the mountains will be in violent shake, and the mountains will be a heap of sand poured out and flowing down. 14 Indeed, We have sent to you a Messenger as a witness over you, just as We sent a Messenger to Pharaoh. 15 But Pharoah rebelled against the messenger, so We seized him with a strong, crushing grip. 16 If you, disbelieve, how will you be able to protect yourselves from the hardships of the day which would even turn children grey-headed? 17 The Day when the heavens will be rent asunder and God's promise shall be fulfilled. 18 This, verily, is a reminder: let him who wills, then set out on a way to his Sustainer! 19
