The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
Read in the name of your Lord Who created. 1 Hath created man from a clot! 2 Recite, and your Lord is the most Generous - 3 who, by the pen, taught the human being: 4 Taught man what he did not know. 5 Indeed, surely the human is very insolent 6 Because he sees himself self-sufficient. 7 Indeed towards your Lord only is the return. 8 What thinkest thou? He who forbids 9 a servant [of God] from praying? 10 Have you seen if he is upon guidance 11 or enjoins true piety? 12 Have you thought that if he denies and turns away, 13 Does he not know that Allah sees everything? 14 No indeed; if he does not desist, We shall drag him by the forelock; 15 his lying, sinful forelock. 16 So let him call his associates, 17 We will call the guards of Hell (to deal with him)! 18 No, indeed; do not obey him! Prostrate and come nearer (to Allah). ۩ 19
