And when thy Lord called Moses, saying: Go unto the wrongdoing folk, 10 and ask them, "Why do you not fear God?" 11 He said, “My Lord, I fear that they will deny me.” 12 My breast is constricted and my tongue is not fluent, so endow Messengership on Aaron. 13 As for me, they hold the charge of a crime against me. I fear they will put me to death." 14 He said: Nay, verily. So go ye twain with Our tokens. Lo! We shall be with you, Hearing. 15 And come together unto Pharaoh and say: Lo! we bear a message of the Lord of the Worlds, 16 That you should send the children of Israel with us.' 17 Pharaoh said: "Did we not bring you up among us when you were a child? 18 And thou didst the deed thou didst, being one of the ungrateful!' 19 He (Moses) replied: 'Indeed, I did that when I was among those who stray. 20 So I fled from you when I feared you, then my Lord granted me wisdom and made me of the apostles; 21 And that favour wherewith thou didst oblige me was that thou hadst enslaved the Children of Isra'il? 22 Said Firaun, “And what is the Lord Of The Creation? 23 Moses said, "Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, if only you would be convinced." 24 Said he to those about him, 'Do you not hear?' 25 Moses said: "(He is) Your Lord and the Lord of your forefathers of yore." 26 (Pharaoh) said: Lo! your messenger who hath been sent unto you is indeed a madman! 27 Moses said, "He is the Lord of the East and the West, and all that lies between them, if only you could understand." 28 Said he, 'If thou takest a god other than me, I shall surely make thee one of the imprisoned.' 29 and Moses asked, "Even if I show you a clear sign?" 30 (Pharaoh) said: "Show it then, if thou tellest the truth!" 31 So (Moses) threw his rod, and behold, it was a serpent, plain (for all to see)! 32 And he drew out his hand, and behold, it was white to all beholders! 33
