The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ When the heaven is split asunder, 1 And it listens to the command of its Lord – and that befits it. 2 And when the earth is stretched, 3 And has cast out all that was in it and became empty, 4 And listens and obeys its Lord, and it must do so; 5 O man, you have to strive and go on striving towards your Lord, then will you meet Him. 6 Then, he who is given his Book in his right hand 7 His account shall presently be taken by an easy reckoning. 8 and will return rejoicing to his family. 9 but as for him whose record shall be given to him from behind his back, 10 He shall presently call for death, 11 And he will enter a Blazing Fire. 12 He used to live joyfully among his people, 13 Surely he thought that he would never return. 14 But he will indeed! His Lord was ever watching him. 15 I swear by the afterglow of sunset, 16 And the night and all it gathers, 17 And by the moon when she becometh full. 18 That you will climb from stage to stage. 19 What is the matter with them, that they believe not? 20 And when the Qur’an is recited to them, they do not fall prostrate? (Command of Prostration # 13) ۩ 21 But those who have disbelieved deny, 22 Allah knows best what they are accumulating (in their Record). 23 (Muhammad), tell them that they will all suffer a painful torment 24 except for those who believe and do good deeds. Theirs shall be an unending reward. 25
