The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the night enshrouding 1 And by the day as it appears in brightness; 2 And by oath of the One Who created the male and the female. 3 surely your strivings are divergent. 4 Yet he who gives to others and has fear, 5 and confirms the reward most fair, 6 We shall surely ease him to the Easing. 7 But as for him who is a miser, and self-sufficient, 8 and cries lies to the reward most fair, 9 We shall surely ease for him the Path of Hardship (the Fire). 10 And his riches will not avail him when he falls headlong (into the Abyss). 11 Truly! Ours it is (to give) guidance, 12 And verify Ours is both the Hereafter and the life present. 13 I have now warned you of a Blazing Fire, 14 Which only the most wretched must endure, 15 The one who denied and turned away. 16 And Al-Muttaqun (the pious and righteous - see V. 2:2) will be far removed from it (Hell). 17 one who gives his wealth to become purified, 18 and confers no favor upon anyone for recompense 19 seeking only the Face of his Lord, the Most High, 20 And soon will they attain (complete) satisfaction. 21
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
