The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the rangers ranging 1 by those who drive away the devil (to protect Our revelation), 2 And those who recite the Reminder, 3 Lo! thy Lord is surely One; 4 The Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that lies between them, and the Lord of the Easts. 5 Verily We! We have adorned the nearest heaven with an adornment: the stars. 6 and guarded it against all rebellious devils: 7 (So) they should not strain their ears in the direction of the Exalted Assembly but be cast away from every side, 8 Being driven off, and for them is a perpetual chastisement, 9 Except those who eavesdrop and are pursued by a shooting flame. 10 Then inquire of them, [O Muhammad], "Are they a stronger [or more difficult] creation or those [others] We have created?" Indeed, We created men from sticky clay. 11 Yet while you are filled with wonder, they just scoff; 12 They pay no attention when they are reminded 13 and when they become aware of a [divine] message, they turn it to ridicule 14 And they say: this Qur'an is naught but magic manifest. 15 Why - after we have died and become mere dust and bones, shall we, forsooth, be raised from the dead? 16 And our fathers too?" 17 Say thou: and verily ye; shall then be despicable. 18 There is but one Shout, and lo! they behold, 19 And they will say: Ah! woe be unto us! this is the Day of Requital. 20 This is the day of the judgment which you called a lie. 21
