Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ Nay! I swear by the day of resurrection. 1 Nay! I swear by the self-accusing soul. 2 Does man think We shall not put his bones together? 3 Yes. [We are] Able [even] to proportion his fingertips. 4 Yet man wants to deny what is ahead of him: 5 He asks, "When is the Day of Resurrection?" 6 Yet when the eyes are dazzled, 7 and the moon is eclipsed, 8 and the sun and the moon are joined together, 9 On that Day shall man say: whither is the fleeing. 10 No indeed; not a refuge! 11 Unto thy Lord is the recourse that day. 12 On that Day man will be informed of what he sent forward (of his evil or good deeds), and what he left behind (of his good or evil traditions). 13 In fact man is a witness against himself, 14 even though he might make up excuses. 15 Do not move your tongue with it to make haste with it, 16 It's gathering and reciting is upon Us. 17 So when We have read it, you should thereupon follow what is read. 18 Again on Us (devolves) the explaining of it. 19 No! But you love the immediate 20 and give no thought to the life to come [and to Judgment Day]! 21 (Some) faces on that day shall be bright, 22 and look forward to receiving mercy from their Lord. 23 and some faces will on that Day be gloomy, 24 believing that a crushing calamity is about to strike them. 25 Nay, but when the life cometh up to the throat 26 And it is asked: "Is there any reciter of charms and amulets?" 27 And he knoweth that it is the parting; 28 when his legs are brought together [when affliction is combined with affliction]; 29 That Day the Drive will be (all) to thy Lord! 30
