The Human (Al-Insan)
31 verses, revealed in Medina after The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman) before Divorce (Al-Talaaq)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
There surely came over man a period of time when he was a thing not worth mentioning. 1 We created man from a drop of mingled fluid so that We might try him; We gave him hearing and sight; 2 Lo! We have shown him the way, whether he be grateful or disbelieving. 3 We have prepared chains, shackles, and flaming fire (for the disbelievers). 4 The virtuous ones will drink from a cup containing camphor 5 From a fountain whence the bondmen of Allah will drink, causing it to gush abundantly. 6 They perform (their) vows, and they fear a Day whose evil flies far and wide. 7 And they feed, for the love of Allah, the indigent, the orphan, and the captive,- 8 (saying): 'We feed you only desirous of the Face of Allah; we seek of you neither recompense nor thanks, 9 We are afraid of our Lord and the bitterly distressful day". 10 And so, God will preserve them from the woes of that Day, and will bestow on them brightness and joy, 11 and will reward them for their steadfastness with Paradise and robes of silk. 12 Reclining therein upon couches, they shall behold therein neither sun nor hurting cold. 13 The shade thereof is close upon them and the clustered fruits thereof bow down. 14 and passed around them shall be silver vessels, and crystal goblets, 15 goblets bright as crystal but made of silver, filled to exact measure. 16 They will drink cups containing (soft flowing) sparkling water 17 [From] a fountain within Paradise named Salsabeel. 18 ۞ They will be attended by youths who will not age -- when you see them you will think them to be like sprinkled pearls -- 19 And when you look there (in Paradise), you will see a delight (that cannot be imagined), and a great dominion. 20 Upon the inhabitants will be green garments of fine silk and brocade. And they will be adorned with bracelets of silver, and their Lord will give them a purifying drink. 21 This is your reward. Your endeavour is fully acknowledged. 22

Notes and Instructions
When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
