The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ When the heaven bursts asunder, 1 in obedience to the commands of their Lord which are incumbent on them, 2 And when the earth is spread out. 3 And it unburdens itself of all that is in it, and becomes empty. 4 And hearkens to (the Command of) its Lord,- and it must needs (do so);- (then will come Home the full reality). 5 Thou, verily, O man, art working toward thy Lord a work which thou wilt meet (in His presence). 6 Then, as for him who will be given his Record in his right hand, 7 He will be judged with an easy account 8 and they will return to their people, delighted 9 But whosoever is given his Record behind his back, 10 he will pray for utter destruction 11 but he will enter the blazing flame. 12 He verily lived joyous with his folk, 13 Verily he imagined that he would not be back. 14 Yea! his Lord had ever been beholding him. 15 So by oath of the late evening’s light. 16 And the night and all it gathers, 17 and the moon when it is at the full, 18 you shall surely ride stage after stage. 19 What aileth them then, that they believe not, 20 and when the Koran is recited to them that they do not prostrate! ۩ 21 No, the unbelievers only belie, 22 But Allah has full knowledge of what they secrete (in their breasts) 23 So announce to them a painful torment. 24 except for those who believe and do good deeds. Theirs shall be an unending reward. 25
