The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the heaven of the constellations! 1 By the Promised Day! 2 And by the witness and that whereunto he beareth testimony, 3 the people of the pit were destroyed 4 of fire fiercely burning [for all who have attained to faith]! 5 when they were seated around it 6 And to that which they did to the believers were witnesses. 7 And they persecuted them for naught save that they believed in Allah, the Mighty, the Praiseworthy 8 To Him only belongs the kingship of the heavens and the earth; and Allah is a Witness over all things. 9 Those who persecuted the believing men and women and never repented, there is for them the punishment of Gehenna (Hell), and for them the punishment of the burning. 10 Indeed those who believed and did good deeds – for them are Gardens beneath which rivers flow; this is the great success. 11 The vengeance of God is terribly severe. 12 Behold, it is He who creates [man] in the first instance, and He [it is who] will bring him forth anew. 13 And He is the Forgiving, the Loving, 14 Lord of the Throne of Glory, 15 The great doer of what He will. 16 Has the story of the armies reached you, 17 Pharaoh and Thamood? 18 Nay! those who disbelieve are in (the act of) giving the lie to the truth. 19 But Allah doth encompass them from behind! 20 What is revealed to you is certainly a glorious Quran 21 (Preserved) on the guarded tablet. 22
