In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the loosed ones successively 1 By the raging hurricanes, 2 and the rain-spreading winds, 3 by (the angels) who make a clear distinction between right and wrong 4 By those who bring down the Reminder, 5 To clear or to warn. 6 Indeed, what you are promised is to occur. 7 Then when the stars become dim; 8 and when the sky is rent asunder, 9 and the mountains scattered, 10 And when the apostles are collected at the appointed time, 11 to what day shall they be deferred? 12 To the Day of Decision. 13 Would that you knew what the Day of Decision is! 14 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 15 Did We not destroy the ancients 16 We will now cause the later ones to follow them: 17 In this wise We do with the culprits. 18 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 19 Have We not created you from a fluid (held) despicable?- 20 Which We placed in a depository safe. 21 till a known term decreed? 22 We determined, how excellent a Determiner are We! 23 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle. 25 the living and the dead? 26 And made therein lofty mountains, and given you to drink of sweet water? 27 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 28 Walk on to that which you called a lie. 29 Go on towards the threefold shadow 30 that will offer no [cooling] shade and will be of no avail against the flame 31 Lo! it throweth up sparks like the castles, 32 and as bright as a herd of yellow camels. 33 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 34 On that day they will not be able to speak, 35 nor shall they be given permission, so that they can apologize. 36 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 37 This is the Day of Decision, We have brought you and the men of old together. 38 So if you have a plan, plan against Me (now). 39 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 40
