Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the emissary winds, (sent) one after another 1 storming tempestuously 2 By those which cause earth's vegetation to revive; 3 by (the angels) who make a clear distinction between right and wrong 4 Then I swear by the angels who bring down the revelation, 5 to provide excuses for some and to give warnings to others: 6 BEHOLD, all that you are told to expect will surely come to pass. 7 Then the stars will lose their light. 8 And when the heaven is rent asunder, 9 and when the mountains crumble into dust 10 and when all the apostles are called together at a time appointed... 11 For which day were they appointed? 12 Upon the Day of Decision! 13 And what do you know, what the Day of Decision is! 14 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 15 Did We not destroy the ancients? 16 and then follow them with the later folk? 17 This is how We deal with the guilty. 18 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 19 Created We you not of water despicable, 20 which We then let remain in [the womb's] firm keeping 21 For a certain appointed time, 22 Thus did We Plan and how excellent is Our planning! 23 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 24 Have We not caused the earth to hold within itself 25 For the living and the dead, 26 and did We not firmly fix towering mountains on it and give you sweet water to drink? 27 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 28 GO ON towards that [resurrection] which you were wont to call a lie! 29 Proceed to that shadow, rising in three columns 30 Neither having the coolness of the shade nor availing against the flame. 31 Lo! it throweth up sparks like the castles, 32 like giant fiery ropes! 33 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 34 This is a day wherein they speak not, 35 Nor will they be given permission to present excuses. 36 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 37 This is the day of decision: We have gathered you and those of yore. 38 So if you have a plan, then plan against Me. 39 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 40
