Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
Hast thou received the story of the Enveloper? 1 On that day (many) faces will be downcast, 2 labouring, toilworn, 3 they shall burn in a Scorching Fire; 4 Given water from the boiling spring to drink. 5 no food for them except thorny plants 6 Which neither nourishes nor avails against hunger. 7 Faces on that Day shall be delighted, 8 With their endeavour well pleased. 9 in a sublime garden, 10 Wherein you shall not hear vain talk. 11 Wherein is a gushing spring, 12 Therein shall be couches elevated! 13 And goblets set at hand 14 and arranged cushions 15 And linen spread out. 16 Do they not look at the camels, how they are created? 17 And the heaven how it has been raised? 18 And the mountains how they have been established? 19 And how the earth was outstretched? 20 Therefore do remind, for you are only a reminder. 21 Thou art not one to manage (men's) affairs. 22 However, those who turn away and disbelieve, 23 God shall chastise him with the greatest chastisement. 24 Certainly, it is to Us that they will return. 25 then upon Us shall rest their reckoning. 26
God the Almighty always says the truth.

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
