The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
(Muhammad), read in the name of your Lord who created (all things). 1 He created man from a clot of blood. 2 Recite, and your Lord is the most Generous - 3 who has taught [man] the use of the pen 4 Hath taught man that which he knew not. 5 Nay, surely man transgresses; 6 whenever he believes himself to be self-sufficient: 7 Surely! Unto your Lord is the return. 8 What do you think? Have you seen he who forbids 9 A servant when he prays? 10 Hast thou seen if he relieth on the guidance (of Allah) 11 Or enjoineth piety? 12 Seest thou if he denies (Truth) and turns away? 13 Knows he not that Allah does see (what he does)? 14 Indeed, if he does not desist, We will seize him by the forelock, 15 his lying, sinful forelock. 16 Then let him call his associates; 17 We will now call the guards! 18 No indeed! Do not obey him, but prostrate yourself and come closer to God. ۩ 19
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
