Al-Aadeyaat
The Galloppers (Al-Aadeyaat)
11 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Afternoon (Al-'Asr) before Bounty (Al-Kawthar)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By the racers, panting, 1 Then those striking sparks of fire, 2 And raiding at dawn 3 And raise the dust in clouds the while, 4 Cleaving, as one, the centre (of the foe), 5 Verily man is most ungrateful to his Lord; 6 He himself knows this very well. 7 and surely he loves riches with a passionate loving. 8 ۞ Does he not then know when what is in the graves is raised, 9 And the hearts' contents shall be brought into the open? 10 Verily, that Day (i.e. the Day of Resurrection) their Lord will be Well-Acquainted with them (as to their deeds), (and will reward them for their deeds). 11
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
