Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ The sure calamity! 1 and what is the Resurrection Verifier? 2 And what will make you know what the Reality is? 3 Samood and Ad called the striking calamity a lie. 4 the Thamud were destroyed by a terrible storm of thunder and lightning; 5 And as for 'Aad they were destroyed by a wind, furious, roaring. 6 To which He subjected them for seven nights and eight days in succession, so that thou mightest have seen men during it lying prostrate, as though they were stumps of palms ruined. 7 Beholdest thou any of them remaining? 8 And Firon and those before him and the overthrown cities continuously committed sins. 9 They disobeyed the Messenger of their Lord and He seized them with torment which increased with time. 10 [And] behold: when the waters [of Noah's flood] burst beyond all limits, it was We who caused you to be borne [to safety] in that floating ark, 11 so that We might make it a reminder for you and so that attentive ears might retain it. 12 With the first blast of sound from the trumpet, 13 and the earth and the mountains are lifted up and crushed with a single blow, 14 Then, on that day will the Event befall. 15 And the heaven shall be rent in sunder, it on that Day shall be frail. 16 And the angels are at its edges. And there will bear the Throne of your Lord above them, that Day, eight [of them]. 17 That Day, you will be exhibited [for judgement]; not hidden among you is anything concealed. 18 Then he that will be given his Record in his right hand will say: "Ah here! Read ye my Record! 19 Surely I knew that I should have to meet my reckoning. 20 He is therefore in the desired serenity. 21 in a lofty Garden, 22 Clusters whereof shall be near at hand. 23 Eat and drink with benefit for that which ye sent on beforehand in days past. 24 And as for him who is given his book in his left hand he shall say: O would that my book had never been given me: 25 and neither known this my account! 26 "Ah! Would that (Death) had made an end of me! 27 "Of no profit to me has been my wealth! 28 My power hath gone from me. 29 Lay hold of him and chain him; 30 Then into Hellfire drive him. 31 “Then bind him inside a chain which is seventy arm-lengths.” 32 He would not believe in Allah, the Most Great; 33 Nor did he urge the feeding of the poor. 34 So there is not for him here this Day any devoted friend 35 Nor any food save filthy corruption. 36 None will eat it except the sinners. 37
