Jinns (Al-Jinn)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ Say, "It has been revealed to me that a band of the jinn listened [to the Quran] and they said, "We have heard a really wonderful recital, 1 Which guides to the right path; and we have come to believe in it, and will not associate any one with our Lord. 2 And that He-- exalted be the majesty of our Lord-- has not taken a consort, nor a son: 3 And that our foolish one has been saying about Allah an excessive transgression. 4 and we had thought that men and jinn would never speak against God a lie. 5 And there were men from mankind who sought refuge in men from the jinn, so they [only] increased them in burden. 6 Like you, they thought that Allah would never raise the dead. 7 And we have sought [to reach] the heaven but found it filled with powerful guards and burning flames. 8 And we used to sit on places (high) therein to listen. But he who listeneth now findeth a flame in wait for him; 9 And we know not whether evil is boded for those who are on the earth, or whether their Lord intendeth for them a right direction. 10 And some of us are the righteous, and some of us are otherwise; we are sects differing. 11 We have realized that we could never thwart God on earth and that we would never be able to thwart Him by flight. 12 And when we heard the guidance, we believed therein, and whoso believeth in his Lord, he feareth neither loss nor oppression. 13 Some of us are Muslims and some of us have deviated from the Truth. Whoever has embraced Islam has followed the right guidance. 14 But as for the unjust, they will be, for Hell, firewood.' 15 (And Allah's Message is): "If they (the Pagans) had (only) remained on the (right) Way, We should certainly have bestowed on them Rain in abundance. 16 ‘In order to test them with it; and whoever turns away from the remembrance of his Lord – He will put him in a punishment that keeps on increasing.’ 17 And the mosques are for Allah (Alone), so invoke not anyone along with Allah. 18 When the devotee of God stood up to invoke Him (the jinns) crowded upon him (to listen). 19
