Nay, by the Moon 32 And by the Night as it retreateth, 33 By the dawn when it lightens! 34 hell is certainly the greatest calamity. 35 It is a warning for mankind 36 To whoever wills among you to proceed or stay behind. 37 Every soul shall be pledged for what it has earned, 38 except the people of the right hand 39 who shall be in the Gardens, and shall ask 40 From the guilty. 41 “What took you into the hell?” 42 They will answer: “We were not among those who observed Prayer, 43 "Nor were we of those who fed the indigent; 44 "But we used to talk vanities with vain talkers; 45 "And we used to belie the Day of Recompense 46 until certainty came upon us [in death]." 47 So there will not benefit them the intercession of [any] intercessors. 48 WHAT, THEN, is amiss with them that they turn away from all admonition 49 as if they were startled asses 50 fleeing from a lion? 51 Nay; every one of them desires that he may be given pages spread out; 52 By no means! But they fear not the Hereafter, 53 By no means! Verily this Qur'an is an admonition. 54 So whosoever willeth may heed it. 55 But they will not remember except as God wills: He is worthy to be feared, and He is worthy of forgiving 56
