۞ Muster those who did evil, their wives, and that they were serving, 22 Besides Allah, then lead them to the way to hell. 23 And stop them, for they shall be questioned: 24 What aileth you that ye help not one another? 25 No, today they will resign themselves in submission, 26 And some of them will confront the others, 27 They will say: "It was you who used to come to us from the right side [i.e. from the right side of one of us and beautify for us every evil, order us for polytheism, and stop us from the truth i.e. Islamic Monotheism and from every good deed]." 28 They will say: “Nay, you yourselves were not the ones who would believe. 29 And we had over you no authority, but you were a transgressing people. 30 The statement of Our Lord is realized against us, and we are tasting it, 31 we perverted you, indeed, we were perverts' 32 So this day they all are partners in the punishment. 33 Verily that is how We shall deal with Sinners. 34 For they, when they were told that there is no god except Allah, would puff themselves up with Pride, 35 And say: "What! shall we give up our gods for the sake of a Poet possessed?" 36 'No indeed; but he brought the truth, and confirmed the Envoys. 37 “You surely have to taste the painful punishment.” 38 And you shall not be rewarded except (for) what you did. 39 But the chosen servants of God; 40 Those will have a provision determined - 41 Fruits of every kind, and they will be honoured 42 in the Gardens of Delight, 43 On couches facing one another; 44 A cup from a gushing spring is brought round for them, 45 White, delicious to those who drink. 46 There shall be no trouble in it, nor shall they be exhausted therewith. 47 And with them will be women limiting [their] glances, with large, [beautiful] eyes, 48 As if they were eggs, safely hidden. 49 They will turn to one another with questions: 50 One of them will say: “I had a companion in the world 51 'Do you believe in the Day of Judgment? 52 ‘That when we are dead and have turned into dust and bones, that we will either be rewarded or punished?’ 53 And he will reply: 'Are you looking down (into Hell)' 54 He therefore looked down and saw him amidst the blazing fire. 55 'By God', he said, 'you had almost ruined me. 56 But for my Lord's blessing, I were one of the arraigned. 57 Are we not then to die 58 Except our previous death? And we shall not be chastised? 59 This is certainly the greatest triumph 60 It is for the like of this that all should strive. 61 Is that (Paradise) better entertainment or the tree of Zaqqum (a horrible tree in Hell)? 62 Which We have reserved as punishment for evil-doers? 63 It is a tree that grows from the bottom of Hell; 64 Its spathes are like the prickly pear. 65 and they [who are lost in evil] are indeed bound to eat thereof, and to fill their bellies therewith. 66 then on top of it they have a brew of boiling water, 67 They can only return to hell. 68 They found their fathers had gone astray; 69 and they are running in their footsteps. 70 So had many an earlier people gone astray, 71 although, verily, We had sent warners unto them: 72 and behold what happened in the end to those that had been warned [to no avail]! 73 EXCEPT for God's true servants, [most people are apt to go astray.] 74
