Remember Our votary Job because he called to his Lord: "Satan has afflicted me with disease and distress." 41 [and thereupon was told:] "Strike [the ground] with thy foot: here is cool water to wash with and to drink!" 42 And We bestowed upon him new offspring, doubling their number as an act of grace from Us, and as a reminder unto all who are endowed with insight. 43 We said to Him, "Take a handful of twigs in your hand and strike with that but do not break your oath." We found him steadfast. What an excellent servant! He turned constantly to his Lord. 44 Remember Our votaries Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, men of power and insight. 45 We chose them for a special [purpose] -- proclaiming the message of the Hereafter: 46 They were, in Our sight, truly, of the company of the Elect and the Good. 47 And call to mind Ishmael and Elisha, and every one who [like them] has pledged himself [unto Us]: for, each of them was of the truly good! 48 This is a Reminder, and verily, for the Muttaqun (pious and righteous persons - see V. 2:2) is a good final return (Paradise), 49 Gardens of Eden with gates open wide to them, 50 wherein they shall recline, wherein they shall ask for abundant fruit and drinks, 51 ۞ and wherein there shall be with them well-matched, bashful mates. 52 Such is the Promise made, to you for the Day of Account! 53 Verily this is Our provision: there will be no ceasing thereof. 54 This (for the virtuous); but for the transgressors the evil destination, 55 Hell, which they will [enter to] burn, and wretched is the resting place. 56 All of this; so let them taste it, boiling water and pus, 57 and other such torments. 58 (We shall say to their leaders): 'This is a troop rushing in with you, there is no welcome for them, they shall roast in the Fire' 59 They will say to them, "You are not welcome! It was you who brought this on us, an evil place to stay," 60 They will say: "O Lord, give him who has brought this upon us two times more the torment of Hell;" 61 And they will say, "How is it that we do not see [here any of the] men whom we used to count among the wicked, 62 Is it that we mistakenly made fun of them; or have they disappeared from our sight?” 63 Verily this is the very truth: the wrangling of the fellows of the Fire! 64
