The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
78 verses, revealed in Medina after Thunder (Al-Ra'ad) before The Human (Al-Insan)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ (Allah) Most Gracious! 1 has taught the Qur'an, 2 He created the human being 3 [And] taught him eloquence. 4 The sun and the moon move according to a fixed reckoning; 5 The stars and the trees prostrate themselves. 6 and He has raised up the heaven and has set a balance 7 Do not transgress the scales. 8 And observe the weight with equity, and make not deficient the balance. 9 And the earth has He spread out for all living beings, 10 In which are fruits, and covered dates. 11 And grain having husks and scented plants. 12 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord, will ye twain belie? 13 He created the human from clay, like earthenware 14 And He created Jinns from fire free of smoke: 15 Which of the wonders of your Lord's power will you twain you men and jinn then deny? 16 Lord of both the Easts, and Lord of both the Wests! 17 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 18 He has set the two oceans in motion, converging together. 19 Between them is a barrier which none of them can transgress. 20 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 21 From them come forth the pearl and the coral. 22 Which of the wonders of your Lord's power will you twain you men and jinn then deny? 23 And His are the ships reared aloft in the sea like mountains. 24 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 25
