Nay; I swear by the moon, 32 by the retreating night, 33 by the brightening dawn, 34 Lo! this is one of the greatest (portents) 35 It is a warning for mankind 36 whether one steps forward to embrace the faith or one turns away from it. 37 Each soul is held in pledge for what it earns, 38 save the Companions of the Right; 39 who in their gardens will be enquiring 40 About Al-Mujrimun (polytheists, criminals, disbelievers, etc.), (And they will say to them): 41 [And asking them], "What put you into Saqar?" 42 They shall say, 'We were not of those who prayed, and 43 and we did not feed the poor, 44 And we have been wading with the waders. 45 and belied the Day of Recompense 46 Until the certainty (of death) had come upon us. 47 Then there will not profit them intercesion of the interceders. 48 If such will be the Day of Judgment, what is the matter with them? Why do they run away from guidance, 49 As they were frightened asses 50 Fleeing away from a lion. 51 No indeed; each one of them desires that open letters be sent to each of them. 52 This will certainly never be the case! In fact, they are not afraid of the Day of Judgment. 53 There is no doubt that the Quran is a guide. 54 so whoever wills shall remember it. 55 No one will seek guidance unless God wills it. He alone is worthy of being feared and He is the Source of Forgiveness. 56
