The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
Recite in the name of your Lord Who created, 1 He created man from a clot. 2 Read: And thy Lord is the Most Bounteous, 3 Who taught (to write) with the pen 4 taught Man that he knew not. 5 Nay, but man doth transgress all bounds, 6 for he thinks himself self-sufficient. 7 Surely to your Lord is the return. 8 Have you seen one who prevents 9 A votary when he (turns) to pray? 10 Tell me, if he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) is on the guidance (of Allah)? 11 or if he commands others to maintain piety!? 12 Seest thou if he denies (Truth) and turns away? 13 Does he not know that God sees? 14 By no means! If he desist not We shall seize and deal him by the forelock 15 a lying, sinful forelock. 16 So, let him call upon his way! 17 We will now call the guards! 18 No! Do not obey him. But prostrate and draw near [to Allah]. ۩ 19
