NOW, VERILY, it is We who have created man, and We know what his innermost self whispers within him: for We are closer to him than his neck-vein. 16 (Remember!) that the two receivers (recording angels) receive (each human being after he or she has attained the age of puberty), one sitting on the right and one on the left (to note his or her actions). 17 He utters not a word but there is by him a watcher at hand. 18 And the agony of death cometh in truth. (And it is said unto him): This is that which thou wast wont to shun. 19 And the Trumpet shall be blown: that will be the Day whereof Warning (had been given). 20 And there will come forth every soul: with each will be an (angel) to drive, and an (angel) to bear witness. 21 (It will be said:) "Thou wast heedless of this; now have We removed thy veil, and sharp is thy sight this Day!" 22 And his companion will say: 'This is that which I have present' 23 Cast ye twain into Hell every person rebellious, contumacious. 24 "Hinderer of good, transgressor, doubter, 25 “The one who appointed another God along with Allah – so both of you fling him into the severe punishment.” 26 ۞ His accompanying devil said, “Our Lord! I did not cause him to rebel, but he himself was in extreme error.” 27 God will say, "Do not quarrel in My presence. I gave you the warning beforehand 28 The sentence that cometh from Me cannot be changed, and I am in no wise a tyrant unto the slaves. 29
