The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
When the sun is covered, 1 when the stars shall be thrown down, 2 when the mountains shall be set moving, 3 and when she-camels big with young, about to give birth, are left untended, 4 and when all beasts are gathered together, 5 the oceans are brought to a boil, 6 souls are reunited with their bodies, 7 And when the girl-child that was buried alive is asked 8 For what sin she was killed? 9 when the records of men's deeds are laid open, 10 And when the sky is torn away, 11 when Hell is set ablaze, 12 And Paradise brought near, 13 Every soul will then come know what it has brought. 14 Rather, I swear by the returning 15 Moving swiftly and hiding themselves, 16 And by the night as it departs; 17 by the dawn sighing, 18 That this is indeed the word of an honoured Messenger, 19 [Who is] possessed of power and with the Owner of the Throne, secure [in position], 20 The one who is obeyed, and trustworthy. (Other angels obey angel Jibreel). 21 Your Companion is not mad, 22 And he has already seen Gabriel in the clear horizon. 23 And Muhammad is not a withholder of [knowledge of] the unseen. 24 And the Qur'an is not the word of a devil, expelled [from the heavens]. 25 Then where are you going? 26 This is naught but an admonition unto the worlds 27 To whomsoever among you who wills to walk straight, 28 And you do not please except that Allah please, the Lord of the worlds. 29
