The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the heaven, and the night-visitor, 1 And what will make you to know what At-Tariq (night-comer) is? 2 It is the star shining brightly. 3 There is not a soul that does not have a guardian over it. 4 Let the human being reflect that from what he has been created. 5 He is created from a drop emitted- 6 issuing from between the backbone and the breastbone: 7 Most surely He is able to return him (to life). 8 On the day when all secrets will be made public, 9 when he will be helpless, with no supporter. 10 By the heaven which giveth the returning rain, 11 and by the earth bursting with vegetation; 12 Verily, it is a discourse distinguishing. 13 it is no merriment. 14 As for them, they are but plotting a scheme, 15 But I am planning a plan. 16 So give a respite to the disbelievers. Deal thou gently with them for a while. 17
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
