The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)
11 verses, revealed in Mecca after Dawn (Al-Fajr) before Cooling the Temper (Al-Sharrhh)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By the midmorning, 1 And by the Night when it is still,- 2 Thy Lord has neither forsaken thee nor hates thee 3 Indeed what is to come will be better for you than what has gone by. 4 And verily, your Lord will give you (all i.e. good) so that you shall be well-pleased. 5 Did He not find you as an orphan and give you shelter? 6 Did He not find you perplexed, and show you the way? 7 Did He not find you in want, and make you free from want? 8 Therefore, as for the orphan, do not oppress (him). 9 and do not reject the beggars 10 and of thy Sustainer's blessings shalt thou [ever] speak. 11
