Noah cried to Us, and how excellent was Our response! 75 And We delivered him and his followers from the mighty distress. 76 And made his seed the survivors, 77 And left for him among the later folk (the salutation): 78 Salamun (peace) be upon Nuh (Noah) (from Us) among the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists)!" 79 This is how We reward the virtuous. 80 Lo! he is one of Our believing slaves. 81 Then the rest we overwhelmed in the Flood. 82 ۞ And lo! of his persuasion verily was Abraham 83 When he came unto his Lord with a whole heart; 84 when he said to his father and his folk, 'What do you serve? 85 "Is it a falsehood- gods other than Allah- that ye desire? 86 “So what do you assume regarding the Lord Of The Creation?” (That He will not punish you?) 87 Then he cast a glance at the stars (to deceive them), 88 Then said: Lo! I feel sick! 89 so they turned their backs on him and went off. 90 Then he turned to their gods, and said: 'What do you eat? 91 What is amiss with you that you do not speak?" 92 Then he turned upon them, striking (them) with (his) right hand. 93 whereupon people came to him running. 94 He said: 'Do you worship what you, yourselves have carved 95 when it is Allah who created you and all that you do' 96 They said: build for him a building and cast him into the flaming fire. 97 (This failing), they then sought a stratagem against him, but We made them the ones most humiliated! 98 He said, 'I am going to my Lord; He will guide me. 99 “My Lord! Give me a meritorious child.” 100 Wherefore We gave him the glad tidings of a boy gentle. 101 and when he had reached the age of running with him, he said, 'My son, I see in a dream that I shall sacrifice thee; consider, what thinkest thou?' He said, 'My father, do as thou art bidden; thou shalt find me, God willing, one of the steadfast.' 102 When they had both submitted to God, and he had laid his son down on his face, 103 We called unto him: O Abraham! 104 You have fulfilled the dream (vision)!" Verily! Thus do We reward the Muhsinun (good-doers - see V. 2:112). 105 Indeed this was a clear test. 106 We ransomed his son with a great sacrifice 107 And We left for him (a goodly remembrance) among generations (to come) in later times. 108 Peace be on Ibrahim. 109 Thus do We reward the doers of good. 110 Indeed, he was of Our believing servants. 111 And [in time] We gave him the glad tiding of Isaac, [who, too, would be] a prophet, one of the righteous; 112 And We sent blessings upon him and Ishaq; and among their descendants – some who do good deeds, and some who clearly wrong themselves. 113
