The News (Al-Naba')
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ Concerning what are they disputing? 1 Is it about the awesome tiding 2 That over which they are in disagreement. 3 Verily, they shall soon (come to) know! 4 They will indeed come to know soon. 5 Have We not spread the earth like a bed, 6 and the mountains [its] pegs? 7 And We created you in pairs 8 and made your sleep a means of repose, 9 and We made the night a mantle, 10 and We appointed day for a livelihood. 11 And We have built above you seven strong ones, 12 And We made a shining lamp, 13 And do We not send down from the clouds water in abundance, 14 so that We may bring forth thereby grain and a variety of plants, 15 and gardens luxuriant. 16 Surely the Day of Decision is an appointed time, 17 the Day when the Trumpet shall be blown, and you will come forth in multitudes; 18 and when the sky shall be opened up and will become all doors; 19 and the mountains move, and vaporize. 20 Lo! hell lurketh in ambush, 21 For the transgressors a place of destination: 22 Where they will remain for aeons, 23 tasting neither coolness nor any drink 24 But boiling and intensely cold water, 25 Reward proportioned (to their evil deeds). 26 Behold, they were not expecting to be called to account, 27 and roundly denied Our Signs as false. 28 And all things have We preserved on record. 29 Therefore taste it now – We shall not increase anything for you except the punishment. 30
