The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ When the heaven is sundered. 1 And listens and obeys its Lord, and it must do so; 2 when earth is stretched out 3 And it unburdens itself of all that is in it, and becomes empty. 4 and hearkens to the command of its Lord, doing what it should. 5 O man, indeed you have to surely run towards your Lord, and to meet him. 6 Whoever is given the Record in his right hand 7 He will be judged with an easy account 8 and shall return to his people joyfully. 9 But whoso is given his account behind his back, 10 He surely will invoke destruction 11 They will suffer the heat of hell fire. 12 Truly, did he go about among his people, rejoicing! 13 Surely he thought that he would never return. 14 Yea! surely his Lord does ever see him. 15 I swear by the glow of sunset, 16 And by oath of the night and all that gathers in it. 17 And by the moon when it is at the full, 18 That ye shall journey on from plane to plane. 19 Then what ails them, that they believe not, 20 And when the Qur’an is recited to them, they do not fall prostrate? (Command of Prostration # 13) ۩ 21 Nay, (on the contrary), those who disbelieve, belie (Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) and whatever he brought, i.e. this Quran and Islamic Monotheism, etc.). 22 And Allah knows best what they gather (of good and bad deeds), 23 So give them the good news of a painful chastisement, 24 Except for those who believe and do righteous deeds. For them is a reward uninterrupted. 25
