The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)
9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
WOE TO EVERY slanderer, back-biter, 1 who has gathered riches and counted them over 2 He thinks that his wealth will immortalise him forever. 3 Nay, but [in the life to come such as] he shall indeed be abandoned to crushing torment! 4 And what will make you know what the crushing Fire is? 5 It is a fierce fire created by God 6 Which mounteth up to the hearts. 7 Surely it shall be closed over upon them, 8 In extended columns. 9
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
